CORPORATE

Communications

  • Writes and distributes press releases and works with national and regional news outlets to garner positive press for the company and the industry
  • Supports community relations in active markets on a national scale, maintaining the company website, creating and managing the use of all marketing collateral, and serving on communications committees of wind related affiliations
  • Maintains the company intranet, coordinating internal news stories and corporate videos for the internal EDP ON television network
  • Plans dedication ceremonies for all new wind farms, Earth Day events, tradeshows and corporate dinners and meetings

Human Resources

  • Manages headcount and compensation budget
  • Defines compensation levels and employee benefits schemes
  • Coordinates recruitment for the several areas of the company
  • Guarantees that the best talent is recruited for the company

CORPORATE OPERATIONS

Procurement

  • Prepares project budgets
  • Controls project capex and cash flow
  • Procures long lead electrical and other equipment for the construction of wind farms

ENERGY MANAGEMENT

Market Intelligence

  • Perform research on market trends in terms of “fundamentals”, regulation and prices
    Power and REC pricing forecasts

Power Marketing & Origination

  • Engages in the origination, negotiation, and execution of energy sales contracts

Market Operations

  • Manages the trading of energy and green certificates for merchant and hedged projects

Deal and Portfolio Structuring

  • Structures products for contracting of energy sales
  • Defines portfolio strategy
  • Manages market risk of the portfolio of projects

Asset Management

  • Monitors the operational performance of the wind farms
  • Engages in management and budget control of the operational wind farms

Operations Services

  • Pro-actively manages the O&M suppliers performance
  • Implements and maintains the safety levels in the operation of the wind farms
  • Coordinates with local communities and interfaces with clients

FINANCE

Business Analysis and Project Finance

  • Raises tax equity financing for projects
  • Manages treasury and cash requests from EDP
  • Analyzes greenfield projects returns
  • Manages and executes M&A processes; coordinates due diligence; coordinates relations with external advisors

Planning and Control

  • Discusses strategic guidelines with management
  • Prepares Horizon’s business plan, consolidating inputs from all areas of the company and coordinating with EDP Renovaveis
  • Prepares Management Information Packages
  • Prepares reporting information and presentations for parent companies

Administration, Consolidation and Tax

  • Prepares individual and consolidated financial statements for Horizon group
  • Prepares tax returns and calculates tax credits
  • Supports development of projects and tax planning

Information Technologies

  • Defines IT strategy and coordinates main contracts and requirements
  • Defines and implements IT Infrastructure architecture
  • Manages IT vendor contract and teams

LEGAL

Legal

  • Prepares and negotiates adequate contracts for activities relating to the development, construction and operation of projects; designs and executes the legal structure of the transactions

Compliance

  • Guarantees the company’s fulfillment of contractual and regulatory obligations during different stages of projects

PROJECT DEVELOPMENT

Development

  • Prospects potential projects, launches wind measurements, analyzes regional competition and conducts project viability studies
  • Negotiates and executes land contracts, securing required state and local permits, licenses and authorizations to build wind farms

Regional Development Centers, Permitting and Transmission

  • Prospects potential projects, launches wind measurements, analyzes regional competition and conducts project viability studies
  • Negotiates and executes land contracts
  • Fosters relationships with authorities and local communities
  • Secures required state and local permits, licenses and authorizations to build wind farms
  • Coordinates the performance of the environmental impact studies
  • Executes interconnection process, from analysis of compatibility with the grid, interconnect requests and negotiation of Interconnection Agreements.
  • Originates and support s International M&A transactions
  • Originates PPA opportunities

New Initiatives

  • Engages in market prospecting, entry strategies and market screenings with market contacts and potential partners
  • Prospects and develops new technologies

TECHNICAL

Energy Assessment

  • Measures the wind and forecasts meteorological conditions of the projects
  • Back Testing to wind farms performance and models

Engineering

  • Prepares the engineering of the projects and supports project permitting
